Overview

Rework is an app that helps junior UX and UI designers get structured feedback from experienced professionals. A junior designer uploads their work, receives feedback from a professional, then uploads an improved version. Each round is a feedback loop, and the whole journey stays visible.

The Problem

A lot of junior designers have nobody with real-world experience to show their work to: students, people on personal projects, and sole designers in a team of non-designers. Without that feedback, uncertainty and imposter syndrome set in, and progress stalls.

What I Did, And Why

I showed the journey, not just the result. Users can browse other juniors' work and see every iteration and the comments it received. Why: a polished final design can look effortless and overwhelming. Seeing the rough versions shows that design is gradual and driven by feedback, which makes feedback feel normal instead of personal.

I made privacy the user's choice. Settings decide whether others can see their work and feedback, and a privacy prompt appears when they submit. Why: sharing unfinished work feels exposing, so the control stays with the person.

I gave people ownership of the process. If feedback is taking too long, they can request a different professional. Why: critique can feel like something done to you, and control over it turns it into something you drive.

I added levelling, so people progress towards Pro status by submitting work and completing feedback loops. Why: feedback only helps if people come back for another round.

I kept sign-in simple and made the dashboard a hub with three clear actions: submit new work, view feedback, or browse featured work. Why: the valuable part of the app is the feedback, so nothing should get between someone and it.

I reused the upload flow for responding to feedback, worded differently, so a user uploads an updated version of their design instead of a new one. Why: one pattern to learn, not two. And every time someone tries to leave the upload screen without submitting, a warning says their comments and file will be deleted.
