Overview

Where it started. I joined the DCU marketing department as an intern while still studying there, and was hired at the end of the year. It was my first experience of real briefs, real deadlines and a large brand with many audiences.

The Problem

A university speaks to prospective students, parents, researchers, partners and its own staff, often in the same week. The brand has to feel like one voice even when a dozen people are producing the work.

What I Did, And Why

I designed digital and print assets across national and international campaigns: email, social, out-of-home advertising and event materials. I stayed strict about the brand, because at that scale consistency is what makes a message look trustworthy.

I also managed the university's social channels across five platforms, using each campaign's results to shape the next, and helped produce video and live event coverage.

It's also where I found out I enjoy taking something complicated and making it clear, which has shaped everything since.
